IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  1. Request your visit at least 3 to 4 weeks before you arrive in New York City.
  2. Submitting this form does not guarantee you will have a Greeter. Please understand that visits are subject to the availability of a volunteer Greeter.
  3. Greeters are friendly and enthusiastic volunteers – not professional tour guides.
  4. If we are able to match you with a greeter, we will confirm by email or telephone giving you the name and telephone/number of your Greeter. If we are late in matching you with a Greeter, we will fax and call your hotel with the information.
  5. If we have no Greeter available for your visit, we will leave a message at your hotel or email you.
  6. Due to the high number of requests we get, you may submit only one (1) Greeter request during your stay.

Big Apple Greeter meets groups up to 6 people who are traveling together.
  • 6 people including all children
  • One person in the group must be 18 years old or older.
  • Larger groups (7 people or more) cannot be divided into smaller groups and assigned 2 or more greeters.

      4. ACCOMODATIONS INFORMATION

Greeters meet visitors at their place of accommodation.
  • You must have confirmed accommodations before submitting your Visit Request Form.
  • Accommodations must be within New York City.
  • Sorry, greeters cannot meet you if you are staying outside New York City.
  • Apartments: we must have the name of your host or rental company, street address and apartment number.

Provide the telephone number of your New York City accommodations.
  • Hotel stay: Provide the USA telephone number of your hotel, hostel, inn or bed & breakfast. We will call to confirm your stay.
  • Apartment stay: Provide the phone number of your host or rental company. We will call to confirm your stay.

  • We may contact you again for a personal USA cell/mobile phone number with voice mail so the Greeter can call you.
  • We cannot use your international mobile phone.

  • Visits are not scheduled on arrival and departure days.
  • Start your visit any time between 9:00AM and 3:00PM.
  • We strongly suggest you schedule your visit for your 1st or 2nd full day in New York City.
